Chihuahua news, updates and a countdown because everyone was begging for one... hah!

*Chihuahua dies defending child.*

Yeah, you read right. I found this article in my research for tonight's blog and thought it would be something cool, but sad at the same time, to read. Go here to read about the Chihuahua hero.

Oh and I also found an updated picture on our heart-patched Chihuahua from the cuteness countdown:

From further investigation, this dog is actually Japanese! And his name is Heart-kun; how appropriate. He came from a litter in Japan and is actually a long-haired. Although the breeder has bred over 1,000 Chis, she had never had another dog with the heart-shaped patch like so but guess what: another one popped out with the same marking. That's what the little rat-looking this is at the bottom of the picture. But aren't they cuuute? <3

But back to business, here we have our final countdown *cue music*. Though our focus is still on our favorite dog, I thought it would be interesting to know about the human celebrities that like to call the Chi a pet or child, haha. Even though there are a lot more out there such as Hilary Duff, Christina Ricci and Brian Littrell (the dude from the Backstreet Boys), I couldn't find as good of images online. So simmer down! XD

Hey look, it's Paula! Some of you may already know of her Chihuahua fondness, as she mentioned them during an American Idol episode, tripped over one thus rendering her with a broken nose and one of 'em, Tulip, was rushed to the vet for some joint problems. Oh yes, crazy people need pets too ;).

3.

I remember reading an article right before the opening of, "Iron Man 2" about Mickey's rant on today's actors and how dumb they are and all he does is stay quiet and hang out with his Chihuahuas. It is always the manliest of men that tend to fall for the Chi. But here in his hand is Loki, his partner in crime and best bud. Unfortunately, Loki died last year at the age of 18. Rest in peace, li'l one!

2.
Sooo here we have Madonna and Chiquita. I've read on a bunch of sites that Madge is credited for starting the Chi trend among the celebrities since Poodles and Yorkies remained a favorite during the mid 20th century with the likes of Audrey Hepburn. I think Chiquita even made it in a book with her owner decked in black vinyl. Oh the things we do with and for our dogs...

1.Hah! This pic makes me smile. Here is America's original sweetheart: Marilyn Monroe and Choo Choo. I never knew Marilyn was the Chi type but now that I think about it, they're perfect for her.
